Library
How it is organised
Every entry is tagged on two axes. The first says how the work defines populism. The second says what populism is studied alongside. Each name below opens the Library with that filter.
Approaches to populism
- Ideational: populism as a thin ideology (Mudde)
- Discursive (Laclau, the Essex school)
- Political-strategic (Weyland)
- Performative or stylistic (Moffitt)
- Socio-cultural (Ostiguy)
- Economic or structural
- Measurement and methods: how populism is measured
- Other or multiple

What goes in
Works related to populism, in English: articles in peer-reviewed journals, and books. Chapters and other kinds of work enter only when they have proved significant over time. The rule that anyone can check: “populism” or “populist” is in the title, or in the abstract when there is one.
What each entry gives you
The full citation, the abstract as published when the publisher provides one, a link to the DOI or to an open-access copy, the tags on both axes, and a BibTeX reference in one click. The works shown can be downloaded as a BibTeX or a CSV file. PopuliVerse links to papers. It does not host them.
How to cite the Library
If you use the Library in your research or teaching, please cite it. The Library grows, so give the date of your visit.
Rzazade, Khayyam, ed. 2026–. PopuliVerse Library. https://populiverse.com/library/. Accessed [the date of your visit].
Cite the works themselves as usual: each entry gives its reference and its BibTeX.

The Zotero group
The Library lives in a public Zotero group called “PopuliVerse Library”. Anyone can read it and use it in their own Zotero. Scholars who contribute regularly are invited to join it as editors.
